Please note that the itinerary indicated on the Eurovélo 8 website includes a detour via the pretty village of La Brigue (4 km from St-Dalmas de Tende), and then takes you to Tende via the mountain and the Boseille pass: this part of the route uses very technical paths, and is only suitable for experienced mountain bikers.

Access to the Col de Tende road tunnel is forbidden to bicycles, and was also made impassable by storm Alex on 2 October 2020.
It is possible to travel from Tende to Limone Piemonte with Italian trains.
It is also possible to reach the Col de Tende via the 46 one-way track, which is on the left before the Tende tunnel. About half of it is paved, and the road part is suitable for road bikes up to the Col de Tende, the highest point of the entire Eurovélo 8 route.
(At the moment this road is closed to bicycles, work in progress,,, following the storm Alex du 2020)
The part located in Italy from the pass, which allows you to go down to the "Le 3 amis" station and then to Limone Piemonte, is asphalted.
