A mix of greenway and gravel itinerary, this route takes you to some surprising places, from Luberon villages to exceptional panoramas and historic sites, including the Pont Julien!
At the start, the route quickly winds its way out of town along the paved roads of Combemiane and Les Milles, then climbs steeply to the Claparèdes plateau via the Vieux Château des Tourettes and the hamlet of Les Agnels. The trail then crosses the plateau des Claparèdes more gently, reaching Buoux and its château. From here, via the Prieuré de Saint-Symphorien and the Combe de Lourmarin, the route is mostly downhill, but with a few more technical sections. Next comes a tough climb on the Val du Loup trail. But once on the heights, it's easy to reach the village of Bonnieux, and after the village, it's almost enough to glide down to Pont-Julien, although you should be careful on the narrower sections of the trail. The final stretch offers a peaceful return to Apt via the Véloroute du Calavon.
