Description
Easily accessible, the Belvédère Chancel offers a remarkable viewpoint. This relatively little-known itinerary is accessible from the intermediate station (2400 m) of the Meije cable car.
From the middle station of the cable car, start walking towards the Evariste Chancel refuge.
The path descends for about 60 m. At the junction with the path leading down to La Grave, take the left-hand path that crosses the mountainside to the lake.
Follow the path that leads to the Chancel refuge in about 30 minutes, then continue for several hundred metres until you reach the lookout point of the same name.
Return by the same route.
