Description
The summit of Rochegrand offers a bird's eye view of the village of Allos, as well as the peaks of the Mercantour National Park (Mont Pelat, Cimet, Petit and Grand Cheval de Bois, etc.) and the Sestrière cirque, where the Verdon river has its source.
From the Col d'Allos car park, the route crosses pastures grazed by cows before the Baisse de Preinier, then by sheep on the Cheirouèche ridge.
After the pass, the trail follows the ridge to the summit of Rochegrand.
