In the morning, meet your guide inside the Aix-en-Provence Tourist Office. After a brief introduction to the day's itinerary, board your comfortable air-conditioned vehicle and set off to discover some of Provence’s most beautiful villages.
● Visit the village of Gordes :
Your first stop is the stunning hilltop village of Gordes, officially listed among the Most Beautiful Villages of France. Overlooking the Luberon mountains, Gordes is famous for its dry-stone architecture, winding cobbled streets, and spectacular panoramic views. Enjoy free time to explore the village at your own pace and soak up its authentic Provençal atmosphere.
● Photo stop at Sénanque Abbey (time permitting) :
If timing allows, enjoy a photo stop overlooking the beautiful Abbey of Sénanque, a 12th-century Cistercian monastery nestled in a peaceful valley. During the lavender blooming season, the surrounding fields create one of Provence’s most iconic landscapes.
● Free time for lunch (at own expense) :
Enjoy free time for lunch in a local village. Your guide will be happy to recommend restaurants and regional specialties.
● Visit the village of Lourmarin :
In the afternoon, continue to Lourmarin, one of the most charming villages in Provence. As you stroll through its picturesque streets, discover a rich architectural heritage ranging from the Renaissance to the 19th century. Surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, and almond trees, Lourmarin has long attracted artists and writers, including Henri Bosco and Albert Camus.
● Visit an olive oil mill and tasting from Monday to Saturday :
End your day with a visit to a traditional olive oil mill, where you will discover the secrets of olive oil production, a cornerstone of Provençal culture and gastronomy. Learn about the different stages of production and enjoy a tasting of locally produced olive oils.
IMPORTANT - On Sundays, the olive oil mill visit is replaced by a visit to the Calisson Museum.
