Nestled opposite the legendary Garlaban mountain range, Le Rucher des Julien produces exceptional organic honeys. Discover this family passion during your visit to La Destrousse, where you can savor the flavors of our region.

Welcome to Rucher des Julien in La Destrousse, a family-run apiary certified in organic beekeeping (AB). Situated across from the Garlaban mountain range, the apiary overlooks the Huveaune Valley. Here, the bees thrive in a pristine environment, producing light spring honeys with notes of thyme and rosemary, as well as robust garrigue honeys. Eager to share their passion, these artisans practice transhumance throughout the seasons, moving their hives to the lavender fields of Provence, the chestnut groves of Ardèche, and the high mountains. To enrich this range of local delicacies, the estate also offers delicious chestnut jams and oil. The whole family works hard every day to preserve this environmentally friendly expertise. Fully integrated into the local ecosystem, Rucher des Julien’s approach is based on concrete, environmentally friendly practices:

- 100% organic beekeeping: Certified by the AB label, the operation excludes any use of synthetic chemical treatments. The hives are maintained naturally to ensure the health of the colonies and the absolute purity of the honey.

- A commitment to sustainable transhumance: Moving the hives with the seasons strictly follows nature’s rhythm. This method provides the bees with preserved and diverse food sources while supporting pollination in the natural areas they pass through.

- A focus on short supply chains: By prioritizing transparency and local distribution, the estate is firmly rooted in the local economy of the Pays d'Aubagne and significantly reduces its carbon footprint.
