Jean-Claude Malosse and his son Benoît have been growing Barbentane figs in their family for generations. Anxious to offer consumers a quality product, their figs are surrounded by shrub hedges where nesting insects bring to the trees the elements they need to give the fig its full flavor.
The black fig of Barbentane is a local variety, produced in said commune. Of a rounded and slightly flattened shape, its purple skin covered with black stripes encloses a tender and sweet pink flesh. There are no less than 700 varieties of figs, the locals will tell you - without any pretension - that the one from Barbentane is obviously the best!
La cabane de Marius offers a sale of local products, near the Barbentane Arena.
Holder of the label High Environmental Value (HVE) meeting precise specifications, the sign is located near the family farm of 20 hectares. It therefore proposes a seasonal own production.
