Lou Countea

Mediterranean cuisine at the foot of the Alps

For all you food lovers we have selected one of the best restaurants in Nice and its region! If you like copious meals, the Restaurant Lou Countea is the perfect place to try “Nissarde cuisine”. In the village of Gilette, the chef Joël dreams up exclusively for you traditional dishes from Nice and the surrounding area. All the authenticity of the region is in your plate: socca, petits farcis, panisses, pelotton … A delight from starter to dessert! And you’ll be astonished by the tourte à la blette.

L’Auberge du Moulin

Delicacies of the Mercantour

Looking for an “eat local” restaurant to share a delicious moment with the family or friends? Head for Roubion where the Nicois influence is obvious in the dishes cooked over a wood fire in l’Auberge du Moulin. To revive you after an athletic day, there’s nothing better than the comforting dishes and the delicious pastries of this Bistrot de Pays. Melt with the delicious pistou, the farcis and the nettle gnocchis: everything is fresh and full of taste with the local products! What we recommend: the place has the Esprit Parc National brand and is part of the Mercantour Park. Just what you need for a little digestive walk in the Alps after a good meal!

Le Cheval Blanc

The chef Christophe is ready to welcome you. This master restaurateur uses local products to create a gourmet menu which changes with the seasons. Try the valley lamb, the local cheeses or be tempted by the edible plants which grow around the village. And for a lovely end to your day, rest your aching feet after long hours of visits or hikes as you sip a drink in the bar, right in the middle of the town.

 Les Alisiers

Let’s meet in the Vallée de Blanche Serre-Ponçon for a great meal

In your quest for local cuisine, the Restaurant Les Alisiers is an absolute must. The owners, Christophe in the kitchen and Emilie in the restaurant, have used all the wealth of the region to dream up dishes which are each lovelier than the last. Here, it’s total transparency: all the suppliers are posted and the recipes are made from carefully selected raw materials. Look no further, from the meat to the drinks, and fruit and vegetables, everything comes from around Montclar, between Gap and Digne-les-Bains.
