The resort of Isola 2000 belongs to the town of Isola located in the Alpes Maritimes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region. The resort is only one hour and a half drive away from the French Riviera. Isola 2000 is the summit of the Southern Alps. It is the perfect place to recharge your batteries during a mountain vacation. It is 2,000 meters above sea level and close to the Italian border. You can enjoy the Isola 2000 resort in summer and in winter and discover a vast natural environment spreading from the Mercantour National Park to the Parco Naturale Alpi Marittime. Skiing and other winter sports in Isola 2000

The ski area of Isola 2000 offers several green, blue, red and black slopes accessible by ski lifts (gondolas, chairlifts, ski lifts and funicular). The variety of slopes makes it possible for everyone, whatever their level, to practice skiing or snowboarding. The ski area is divided into 3 areas: the Pelevos area is the best for beginners or for those who want to try freestyle. As for the experienced skiers, they will enjoy the curves and bumps of the undergrowth of the Saint Sauveur area. The Lombarde area offers an exceptional setting for skiing and snowshoeing. On the ski area you will also find a snowpark, a boardercross and a Family Park area for everyone. If you wish, you can take skiing or snowboarding lessons at the Isola 2000 ESF (French Ski School). They offer private or group lessons. Instructors at the Piou Piou club will welcome children. Isola 2000 has two “Tandem Ski” chairs for Handiskiing. People with reduced mobility can be accompanied by an instructor on the slopes.

In winter, in Isola 2000, you can ski tour or snowshoe on your own or with a guide. You can also try driving a snowmobile.

Summer outdoor in Isola 2000

Isola 2000 has a wonderful Bike Park that will delight mountain bike enthusiasts. Whatever your level, enjoy the different downhill tracks going through the larch trees. Some of them have been equipped with different wooden equipment to practice and have fun. There are more than 15 kilometers of trails winding through the mountain, along the Chastillon and Guerche rivers. You can go mountain biking with a qualified instructor.

You can also explore the territory hiking. Different circuits for all levels start from the town of Isola whether you are on your own or with a guide or a mountain leader. You can, for example, go to the Louch waterfall and cross the footbridge for a breathtaking view. Other hiking circuits are also very popular such as the Tête Mercière, the Lac de Terre Rouge or the Chemin des Crêtes.

Climbing enthusiasts can also practice their favorite sport during their stay in Isola 2000. Several climbing routes are available on the Belvedere site for beginners or experienced climbers.

The charming mountain village of Isola is located 870 meters above sea level, in the high valley. Discover its historical heritage by taking a stroll through the cobbled streets. Relax at the fitness center, unwind at the Lac des Neiges lake or go skiing. Whatever the season, you will find something to keep you busy.

During your visit to Isola you can admire the St Pierre bell tower, the only remnant of the old St Pierre church, located at the entrance of the village. Then you will discover the communal wash houses still supplied with running spring water, the communal oven where the Isolians used to bake their bread, the grain mill… You can also head towards the chestnut grove that used to be the main food resource of the inhabitants.
