The family resort of Montclar belongs to the town of Montclar, in the Alpes de Haute Provence department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region. Perched at an altitude of 2,500 meters in the heart of the Southern Alps, the resort of Montclar les 2 Vallées overlaps the valley of the Blanche and the valley of the Ubaye. Skiing and other winter sports in the Montclar resort

Experienced skiers or beginners can enjoy the green, blue, red and black slopes in the ski area of Montclar. Kids can also play in the snow garden. The slopes are accessible by ski lifts (chairlifts and drag lifts). Snow cover is guaranteed throughout the season thanks to artificial snow guns. Take the chairlift to reach the plateau of La Chau and get a breathtaking view of the lake of Serre Ponçon and the Valley of La Blanche. Beginners can ski on the slope of the Vallée de la Blanche. You can, if you wish, take lessons at the ESF (French Ski School) of Montclar during the whole winter season to learn skiing or improve your skiing or snowboarding skills. The most experienced skiers can try riding down more difficult Ubaye slopes. You can also practice winter sports in a snowpark located at the top of the slopes.

If you are not a skier, you can go sledding or snowshoeing through the Montclar natural area.

Summer outdoor in Montclar

In summer, the resort of Montclar is a paradise for cycling and mountain biking enthusiasts regardless of their level. The most experienced will appreciate the steep tracks such as “Chau devant”, “A fond la souche”, “Barjo” and “Merci qui”. The amateurs can enjoy riding the more playful ones: “La Holidays”, “Sentinel” and “Molotof”. Depending on the itinerary you choose, you will be able to admire the view of the valley of La Blanche and of the lake of Serre Ponçon and the view of the valley of Ubaye on the other side.

To discover the natural heritage in an unusual way, you can try other activities such as riding a downhill scooter. It is an off-road scooter that makes it possible to ride the mountain tracks. Animal lovers will also be able to go horse riding around the resort of Montclar les 2 Vallées.

In summer, it is great to hike in the mountain. The Belvedere chairlift takes you directly to the Chau plateau, located at 2,000 meters of altitude. Once there you will probably see some marmots. Different track for all levels wind through the mountain and will take you to high-altitude lakes and breathtaking panoramas. The itineraries are also accessible to trailers.

Your stay in Montclar in summer will be very active. You can choose between a great diversity of activities such as paragliding, treetop adventure course, climbing, via ferrata.
