Renowned for its festival, Cannes is much more than a chic and glamorous city. The public beaches of Cannes

Among the 13 public beaches welcoming swimming enthusiasts and water activities in Cannes, two are located on La Croisette.

The beach of the Palais des Festivals is appreciated for its fine sand and gentle slope, making it easy for the younger ones to access the water. It is easily accessible from the city center.

The East Croisette Beach, very popular, is particularly busy in the summer. It is located in front of the Martinez hotel, positioned at the center of the beach.

These two beaches offer many amenities: toilets, showers, and wheelchair-accessible facilities.

Located further to the east, at the end of La Croisette, Bijou Plage has the Handiplage label. With its lifeguard station and supervised swimming, gentle slope access to the water, it is particularly suitable for families. You will also have a breathtaking view of the Lérins Islands.

Many private beaches

Swimming enthusiasts and water activity lovers can also opt for private beaches, which offer a higher level of comfort and service quality compared to public spaces. There are 33 private beaches along the waterfront, offering various services: restaurants, terrace bars, rental of mattresses, deckchairs, and umbrellas, private pontoons, and more. Prices vary depending on the reputation of the private beach, the entertainment, and the expected services. The most famous ones belong to prestigious hotels such as the Carlton or the Martinez.

Swimming at the Lérins Islands

The Lérins Islands are an archipelago consisting of two main islands, Île Sainte-Marguerite and Île Saint-Honorat, and several islets, facing the city in the Bay of Cannes. Shuttles provide maritime connections several times a day.

On the Lérins Islands, you will find numerous secret coves and small wild beaches, allowing you to enjoy the sun and the blue waters of the Mediterranean away from the crowds.

By dedicating a day to the Lérins Islands, you can combine leisure on the beach with cultural exploration by visiting the Cannes Museum of the Sea and the Saint-Honorat Monastery.
