The Mercantour mountains
The Mercantour owes its diversity to Mediterranean and Alpine influences. Six valleys with strong personalities give life to the Mercantour. The Park has been laid out to encourage the practice of outdoor activities, while ensuring the preservation of the landscape… Hiking enthusiasts will discover the marked trails. You can also set off on the roads of the Mercantour by bike, challenge the void by trying your hand at climbing, go down the Mercantour torrents in a kayak, or even go horseback riding in the magical Mercantour landscapes… In winter, the Mercantour mountains put on their white mantle. Famous ski areas such as Espace Lumière (Pra Loup / Val d’Allos) or Isola 2000 and family resorts offer many activities: downhill skiing, snowboarding, snowshoe hiking, cross-country skiing, dog sleigh rides, fat biking… The hilltop villages are a reminder of a very ancient human occupation. During your tourist escapades, discover oil mills, windmills, grain mills, fortifications, chapels, churches, oratories …
