Aubagne markets

To the east of Marseille, at the foot of the Garlaban, the town of Aubagne embodies a certain idea of Provence associated with Marcel Pagnol. The town’s markets present a particularly generous terroir, as well as a craftsmanship that showcases ancestral know-how. Discover Provence in a different way with a visit to the markets of Aubagne.

The food markets

Four days a week, Aubagnais and visitors passing through can discover numerous stands on the Cours Voltaire offering food: fruits and vegetables, cheeses, fish and seafood, culinary preparations. The warm atmosphere, the singing accent, the colors and smells provide a real sensory experience for customers and curious people strolling between the aisles.

  • Days: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday
  • Address: Cours Voltaire

Farmer’s market

On weekends, local market gardeners, producers and farmers invite themselves to the food market and offer all the flavors of the Provencal soil: sun-drenched fruits and vegetables, goat’s cheese, aromatic herbs, garlands of garlic, honey with flowers from the garrigue, jams…

  • Days: Saturday and Sunday morning
  • Address: Cours Voltaire

The fairground market

Once a week, the fairgrounds take possession of the Cours Foch and the Esplanade de Gaulle. The exhibitors offer a large selection of clothing, shoes, ready-to-wear accessories, bazaar items, kitchen utensils, decorative objects and many other surprises and bargains.

  • Days: Tuesday morning
  • Address: Cours Foch and Esplanade de Gaulle

The market for Santons

The crèche is a tradition dear to the Provencal people, who revive the birth of the Child Jesus by recreating a traditional XIXth century village, with its trades and its truculent characters. Aubagne, famous for its santon makers, honors the santons at the end of the year in its Christmas market: you will find all the characters and decorations to make your own crib, where you will fall under the spell of a figurine to buy as a souvenir.

  • Days : At the end of the year
  • Address: Aubagne city center
