Dominated by its castle, the town of Salon-de-Provence has a lively and commercial historic center. Several markets are organized every week in the city center or in the outlying districts, to the delight of the Salonais and visitors passing through in search of authentic flavors and Provençal craftsmanship.

The big market

A real invitation to travel, the big market is organized every week and takes place mainly on the partially covered Place du Général de Gaulle. You will find many colorful stalls offering the flavors of Provence: fruits and vegetables, olives and oils, cheeses and farm eggs, meats and delicatessen, sweets, honeys and jams, delicatessen dishes … Fairgrounds also offer non-food products.

The Sunday market

Every Sunday, a Sunday market takes place on the main square of Salon-de-Provence. The stalls show the variety of scents, colors and accents of Provence with many fruits and vegetables and tasty local specialties, all in a very southern atmosphere. You can take the opportunity to stroll through the streets of the historic center or linger on the terrace of a café or restaurant.

Farmer’s markets

The Pays Salonais and the Alpilles are home to many producers who are passionate about their work: market gardeners, shepherds and breeders, cheese makers, winemakers, beekeepers… Throughout the year, these lovers of the land settle in the different districts of Salon-de-Provence to offer their fruit and vegetables, their cold meats, their cheeses, their eggs, their wines, their honeys, their jams and their many other local products.

  • Late Thursday afternoon: Chemin des Cabans, Michelet district

  • Sunday morning: Place Tricon, Bel-Air district
