The Alpilles
Evoking an island between the Durance and the Rhône, the Alpilles massif is renowned for its landscapes and exceptional biodiversity. For several millennia, men have lived on this steep territory 30 kilometers long and about 10 kilometers wide. The Alpilles are ideal to discover on foot, on horseback or by bike. The Alpilles are also home to preserved villages and a remarkable architectural heritage, which have lived for millennia from wine growing and olive growing . Antiquity and the Middle Ages have left us vestiges and monuments, such as the ancient Gallo-Roman town of Glanum, the Roman aqueduct of Barbegal and the Château des Baux.
