Provence Verte
This natural region is famous for its landscapes. You can go hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. Its charming villages such as Tourves, Carcès or Montfort-sur-Argens, are also a tourist attraction, as well as its heritage (Basilica and convent of Saint-Maximin, Abbey of La Celle, Château d’Entrecasteaux…).
The Verdon Regional Nature Park
In the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, the landscapes of the Verdon were born from the marriage between a river, the Verdon, a white stone, limestone, and the azure of Provence. The landscapes here are wild and bucolic: agricultural valleys, clearings, forests, vertiginous valleys… You will be able to practise many outdoor activities, alone or in couple, with friends or family: there are sports such as hiking, cycling, horse riding, canyoning, paragliding, climbing, via ferrata, tree climbing… The hilltop villages of the Verdon are a reminder of a very ancient human occupation. During your touristic escapades, you can admire historical milestones, bread ovens, wash houses, wells, medieval castles, oppidums… Agropastoralism is very active thanks to the actions of farmers driven by passion. The regional markets and traditional grocery stores will invite you to discover an exceptional terroir: honey, gingerbread, goat’s cheese, lamb meat, vegetables and fruits, farm products, olive products (oil and pasta)…
The Museums in the Var department
A natural destination par excellence, the department must also be perceived as a cultural destination. The Museums in the Var department will certainly seduce you. You will be able to visit, for example, the Red Mouth Museum of Tourves, the archaeological museum of Fréjus, the museum of fossils and minerals of Bargemon, the Maison monsoise of Mons…
