The historic centre has kept its soul, when Saint-Raphaël was just a fishing village. The narrow alleys and shady squares are an invitation to stroll around, with stores, cafés and restaurants with welcoming terraces. You can admire the Basilica of Our Lady of Victory, whose Romano-Byzantine style was in vogue when it was built in the 19th century. History lovers will push open the doors of the Museum of Prehistory and Underwater archeology, which traces the life of the former occupants of the place, from Prehistory to Roman antiquity. Finally, the Bonaparte Garden offers a magnificent view of the sea and the hinterland.
The heritage of Saint-Raphaël will thrill all your senses, with a generous land open to both sea and land. The stalls of the local markets offer a real symphony of colours, smells and flavors, to be enjoyed as an aperitif, lunch or dinner.
Nature lovers will also be in heaven. The Estérel massif, with its red rocks, offers remarkable landscapes. Tracks and marked trails allow you to explore it on foot, by bike or on horseback. The Cap Dramont, the Pic de l’ours, the Cap Roux or the Rocher Saint-Barthélemy are among the must-see around Saint-Raphaël.
