Monuments and heritage

We invite you to admire the castle. Rebuilt in 1800, it hosts exhibitions during the summer season. You can also stroll through the narrow streets of the village, and admire the facades of the old houses. While walking around the village, you can also admire the medieval ramparts of Sillans la Cascade, which have been completely renovated. The church of Saint Etienne, built in the Middle Ages and enlarged in the 19th century, has a beautiful ochre colour and a pretty bell tower.

You can also visit the Cistercian abbey of Le Thoronet, located about 30 km south-east of Sillans-la-Cascade.

Provence Verte (the Green Provence)

This natural region is visited for its landscapes. You can go hiking, mountain biking and horse riding. Provence Verte is also appreciated for its authentic villages such as Tourves, Pontevès or Montfort-sur-Argens, or for its historical heritage.

Provence Verte was named because it has springs, rivers and wooded hills. Water is also present in Sillans-la-Cascade. The village is known for its waterfall, which is almost 45 metres high and is renowned for its beauty and wildness.

The Verdon Regional Nature Park

From the union between the Verdon river, a soft white stone, limestone, and the blue of Provence was born the Verdon. The landscapes are at the same time wild and preserved: cultivated valleys, woods and forests, meadows, vertiginous valleys?
