Completely renovated in 2021, the museum, which has been awarded the "Musée de France" label, boasts a collection of ancient and modern art, contemporary art, a cabinet of curiosities and a graphic arts cabinet. It regularly organizes temporary exhibitions.

To visit the Toulon Museum of Art (MAT) is to discover a multi-faceted collection that includes an important collection of contemporary art established in the late 1980s. It includes prestigious signatures of New Realism (Arman, César, Christo, Yves Klein ...), Minimalism (Donald Judd, Sol LeWitt), and a photographic collection of nearly 400 works. Since September 2020, contemporary art has been honored with exhibitions of French and international artists who have been raising artistic and social questions since the 1960s.
