A trail race across varied terrain featuring three routes — 11 km, 26.5 km, and 42 km — starting from Montclar resort
Challenge des Trails du Géoparc
To mark the extension of its territory into the Middle Durance and Sisteronais-Buëch areas, the Haute-Provence UNESCO Global Geopark has created the Geopark Trail Challenge. Participants in the three partner events — L’Escalo, La Perce-Roche, and the Dormillouse Trail — will earn points through their race results. Awards will be presented in September.
Saturday, August 8
5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.: Runner check-in and race bib collection.
On-site registration available upon presentation of a valid competition running licence or a medical certificate authorizing participation in competitive running events.
Sunday, August 9
From 7:00 a.m.: Runner check-in and race bib collection until 15 minutes before each start.
7:00 a.m.: Briefing for marshals and volunteers.
7:30 a.m.: Briefing for 42 km runners.
7:45 a.m.: Start of the 42 km race.
8:45 a.m.: Briefing for 26.5 km runners.
9:00 a.m.: Start of the 26.5 km race.
9:45 a.m.: Briefing for 11 km runners.
10:00 a.m.: Start of the 11 km race.
10:45–11:00 a.m.: Arrival of the first 11 km runners.
11:15–11:30 a.m.: Arrival of the first 26.5 km runners.
12:00–12:30 p.m.: Arrival of the first 42 km runners.
12:00 p.m.: Lunch service begins.
Prize-Giving Ceremonies
12:30 p.m.: 11 km race awards.

La Salette
11 km
Elevation gain: 400 m
Route: Montclar Resort – Saint-Léger – La Salette – Risolet – Saint-Léger – Finish.
Col Bas
26.5 km
Elevation gain: 1,300 m
Route: Montclar Resort – Le Favet – Fontaine du Loup – Cascade de la Pisse – Bois du Tour – Lakes Area – Col Bas – Plateau de la Chau – Pré La Selle – Finish.
Les Crêtes
42 km
Elevation gain: 2,100 m
Route: Montclar Resort – Lake Saint-Léger – Le Favet – Fontaine du Loup – Cascade de la Pisse – Bois du Tour – Lakes Area – Summit of Dormillouse – Col Bas – Pic de Savernes – Pic de Bernardez – Col de Bernardez – Plateau de la Chau – Pré La Selle – Finish.
Eligibility Categories
According to the new trail-running regulations, every 100 metres of elevation gain is considered equivalent to an additional kilometre when calculating maximum authorised race distances.
42 km (2,100 m D+): Open to runners in the Espoir category and above (born 2003–2005 and earlier).
26.5 km (1,300 m D+): Open to runners in the Espoir category and above (born 2003–2005 and earlier). Included in the Trails 04/FSGT Challenge.
11 km (400 m D+): Open to runners in the Cadet category and above (born 2008–2009 and earlier). Included in the FSGT Challenge.
In accordance with the new Masters category regulations introduced by the French Athletics Federation (FFA), awards will be presented to the top three finishers in categories M1, M3, M5, M7, and M9 (every ten years).
Refreshment Stations
Water, fruit juice, and food will be available along the courses and at the finish line.
11 km: 1 aid station (km 5.5)
26.5 km: 3 aid stations (km 8, 14.5, and 18)
42 km: 4 aid stations (km 12, 18.5, 25.5, and 33)
A cold meal will be served to all runners at the finish.
Mandatory Equipment
All runners must carry:
One mobile phone.

Food supplies
Waterproof windproof jacket
Whistle
Runners must bring their own reusable cup or bowl. No disposable cups will be provided by the organisers.

Health Recommendations
The event follows the post-COVID-19 health recommendations issued by the expert committee appointed by the French Athletics Federation (FFA) on July 21, 2020. These recommendations may evolve in accordance with future public health directives.
Registration and Race Bib Collection
Online registration is strongly recommended before the event.
Medical documents will be collected and verified digitally prior to race bib collection.
Race bibs will only be issued upon receipt of a complete registration file (payment and approved licence or medical certificate).
Participants must comply with the designated time slots for race bib collection.
Participants must also follow the one-way circulation system established for race bib pick-up.
