Description
From April 29 to June 29, 2026, the Cottet Immobilier real estate agency will be hosting an exhibition of photographs by Bernard Dumas entitled "About boats".
"Among the worlds that speak to me as a photographer are marine cemeteries, small fishing ports and large industrial harbors. I love these atmospheres, charged with experience and imagination, in which the object-boat inspires me as much as the place. Old carcasses out of water are like sculptures or abstract paintings. I wander around their salt- and rust-corroded hulls as if in a museum, drawn in by their colors, which take me straight back to de Staël, Rothko or Richter. Later, in front of my computer screen, I look at my photographic catch, with its share of disappointments and pleasant surprises. Some images will remain as they are because they work on their own, while others will require color or contrast corrections before becoming photographic tableaux. Here's a look back at some of the marine atmospheres captured in India, Brittany and Hamburg."
