Description
Château Mauvanne invites you to the Art&Vin exhibition, featuring ballpoint pen drawings by Jean-Marc Tourreilles.
It was the lords of Mauvans who gave the estate its name in the 17th century. The château, built in 1844, is nestled in a park spanning more than one hectare along the roadside, giving it a strategic location between the sea and the mountains, facing the Îles d’Or off Hyères. This estate is owned by independent winemakers: the Rahal family since 1999. The estate is hosting its first exhibition featuring pen-and-ink drawings and paintings by Jean-Marc Tourreilles, in which faces emerge (fragile, sometimes hesitant presences).
Jean-Marc Tourreilles’ art reveals how an image is born of time. Starting with a scribble, he layers intertwined lines until forms emerge that seem to arise of their own accord. A slow, patient metamorphosis, where the material transforms before our eyes.
Transparencies, overlays, variations in tools: each work is a passage, a shift, an apparition.
