We live in a constantly expanding world where music from every era and every style is available to us all at once. That is the privilege of our century. We can wake up in an imaginary, baroque garden, gaze at the starry sky while listening to Bach’s enchanting melodies; say “I do” beneath the sacred vaults to Mozart’s sublime “Laudate Dominum”; dance the Argentine tango in the evening to Gardel’s spellbinding music (“Por Una Cabeza”), and finally sing Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” in harmony, hand in hand, with the hope of a better tomorrow... Music surrounds us like a gentle sea, like a garden with lush trees, like a soft cocoon—the embrace of a loved one—and gives us the energy of love.
