It's the erosion that time and nature have inflicted on this scrap metal that has created the alchemy between it and me.
A kind of magic through destruction that sublimates a simple, crude piece of scrap metal into a bewitching, almost living object, a shaping that man could hardly achieve through work.
Wind, fresh or salt water and earth modify the manufactured object and magnify it; colors fade or are created and take on hues that only erosion can generate. I intervene almost exclusively in the composition, assembly and construction of form. My world is figurative, populated by characters I've brought out of the earth's womb, as if it were time for the earth to give birth before gently swallowing up these ephemeral creations forever, refuse accepted without a word and returned to dust. I thank this fertile earth that man mistreats and that once again shows him the way to wisdom and generosity. Preserve nature, show it love, or it will swallow you up before your time, and I won't always be there to resuscitate you.
