Description
On Friday, July 17, 2026, the Carro harbor waterfront transforms into a vast dance floor for the Carro Festival ball, featuring the Mephisto orchestra—a must-see festive variety band in Provence.
Every summer, the Carro Festival transforms the waterfront—nestled between the picturesque fishing port and the Mediterranean—into a grand stage for a community celebration. On Friday, July 17, 2026, the highlight of the event is the big dance party hosted by the Mephisto Orchestra. A leading festive variety band in the PACA region, they promise a spectacular evening of dancing for audiences of all ages.
Featuring around twenty musicians and dancers on stage, 250 costumes, and impressive visual displays, the Mephisto Show performs a non-stop medley of French and international hits within a lively, welcoming production. With its traditional open-air dance atmosphere, fairground-style lighting, and a sunset over the sea, the evening is a true highlight of the summer in Martigues.
Before the dance, the Carro Festival Committee is hosting a dinner-show from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A €10 menu featuring Marseille sausages, *panisses* (chickpea fritters), and ice cream will be served right on the waterfront. Reservations are required via the Festival Committee’s online shop; this system helps minimize food waste and keeps prices affordable.
From 10:00 PM to 1:30 AM, the Grand Ball featuring the Mephisto Orchestra is completely free and open to everyone—locals, summer vacationers, and passing visitors alike. On-site, the Festival Committee’s refreshment stand offers drinks at reasonable prices, maintaining the friendly, community spirit of this village festival.
