Description
Maître Pantalon, keen to increase his fortune while strengthening his ties with Madeleine, his only daughter, buys an old abandoned inn at 100 rue des Détours.
Determined to breathe new life into the fallen company before the return of his daughter - who has left to study the art of business - he embarks on a series of decisions as ambitious as they are risky. But nothing goes according to plan. The miserly old man and his employees will have to take a hundred detours if they hope to turn this wreck into a profitable business. One question remains: who, father or daughter, will have the last word?
Cent détours is a show that's both funny and engaging, driven by precise physical writing and virtuoso acting. In keeping with the tradition of masked and clown theater, the show explores an ancestral form that the company takes pleasure in revisiting with modernity, creating a lively dialogue between heritage and contemporaneity.
Through comedy and derision, the show sheds light on major current issues: working conditions, generational clashes, eco-responsibility, patriarchy, women's affirmation and rights.
With Cent détours, Productions Drôle de Monde offer a fresh take on commedia dell'arte. The characters, their motivations, references and aesthetic choices integrate contemporary elements, creating a real bridge between the realities of yesterday and today. Here, form serves content to the full.
