Description
A celebration of the deities worshipped by the people of Arles in ancient times—Organized by the Ars Praetoria association, in collaboration with the associations Arelate, Legio VI Ferrata, and Chaudron et Baluchon.
To mark the 20th edition of our festival, the opening ceremony will focus specifically on reenacting a ritual honoring the deities worshipped by the people of Arles in ancient times: the indispensable Venus, of course, but also Apollo, Ceres, and Bacchus, and will feature the arrival of an official representative of the imperial court.
We will kick off this week with a solemn procession, allowing everyone to see just how much the legacy left by our Roman ancestors is still very much alive!
The ceremony will be followed by the traditional opening parade through the streets of Arles, where civilian and military participants will march together.
