Description
Chicago Today! is a brand-new event at AJMi that showcases the Chicago music scene.
These two-part evenings feature a discussion between musicians from the Chicago scene and Alexandre Pierrepont, an anthropologist and director of the Franco-American exchange program The Bridge, followed by a concert. This second part will feature a discussion with Greg Ward and Hélène Labarrière on creative music and the importance of transatlantic relations.
Improvisational musicians come together around the world, in real life, to truly be together, to feel and spread the vibrations, to immerse themselves in the same cosmic flow, and then to send it back out into the universe. We can’t say it enough, so we’ll say it again: so-called “creative” music creates singularity by recreating space-time. Join us for The Bridge 2.11 for a journey to the very heart of improvisation.
A discussion with Dave Rempis, Alexandre Pierrepont, and Antoine de La Roncière at 6 p.m., followed by a concert by The Bridge 2.11 at 7 p.m.
