Description
To mark the bicentenary of photography, Archives Nice Côte d'Azur invites visitors to discover the iconographic collections held by the institution: Clic Clac Côte d'Azur! Two centuries of photographic memory.
The exhibition will open on February 2, 2026 at the Villa Les Palmiers, headquarters of the Archives Nice Côte d'Azur, before touring the entire metropolitan area (schools, libraries, media libraries and partner institutions) from June 2026.
A dive into the region's visual memory
The exhibition highlights the richness and diversity of the public and private photographic collections held by the Archives. From 19thᵉ century glass plates to natively digital images, it shows how photography has documented, accompanied and shaped :
- the evolution of the city and metropolitan territory
- major works and urban transformations
- the daily lives of residents
- major sporting and cultural events
- emblematic festivals: Carnaval, Bataille des Fleurs, Jazz Festival...
