Corsican duo Fiuminale – Two voices, one island
With over forty years on stage and more than 2,000 concerts in France and abroad, Maxime Merlandi and Jean-Philippe Guissani embody the very soul of Corsican song today. Their duo, Fiuminale, builds on a career marked in particular by the Barbara Furtuna quartet, a group that helped to spread the fame of Corsican polyphony throughout the world.
They have collaborated with L’Arpeggiata, Placido Domingo, Roberto Alagna, Constantinople and Bélem, and have performed in over thirty countries, on stages such as Carnegie Hall in New York, the Konzerthaus in Berlin and the Salle Pleyel in Paris.
On stage, Fiuminale offers a powerful yet intimate vocal performance: a moment of sincere connection, fuelled by a sensitive dialogue with the audience and a profoundly human resonance.
