Description
Retrospective of the current exhibition at the Musée d'Orsay until July 19, 2027
Lecture presented by paul perrin, director of conservation and collections at musée d'orsay and curator of the exhibition
Is Renoir's painting modern? What is the specificity of the artist's contribution to Impressionism and, more broadly, to the history of painting? Can we speak of a painting in love, or rather an art of connection?
This talk looks at the major issues at stake in the "Renoir et l'amour" exhibition (Musée d'Orsay, until July 19, 2026). It outlines the main themes of the exhibition, and explains how it aims to re-read some of Renoir's most famous and popular Impressionist works in a new light.
