Les Amis de Jouques organize tours of our monuments and discovery trails. Heritage Days, in particular, offer an opportunity to introduce younger generations to our architectural, cultural, and natural heritage.
MONUMENTS: Saturday and Sunday, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
• Chapel of Notre-Dame-de-Consolation – Consolation *oppidum* (hillfort) overlooking the Durance River.
• Church of Saint-Pierre and its nativity scene.
• Chapel of Notre-Dame-de-la-Roque – At the top of the village.
• Rural and Local History Museum – 74 Rue Grande.
VISITS: Saturday and Sunday
Sculptor Antoine Sartorio’s studio, Old Archbishop’s Palace (Ancien Archevêché), 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM. Tour organized by the "Les Amis d’Antoine Sartorio" association.
Sculptor Pierre Vallauri’s studio, 501 Route des Estrets, 2:30 PM – 6:30 PM.
Notre-Dame-de-Fidélité Abbey, Chemin Pey de Durance; Saturday 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM, Sunday 2:00 PM – 6:30 PM.
Le Vieux Moulin de Jouques (The Old Mill): Located by the Réal stream, the Old Mill—classified as a "remarkable building"—is a former 17th-century oil mill. The owners are opening the doors to this treasure.
Saturday only, 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM; 56 Chemin de la Forge; registration required at 06 86 73 57 85.
Domaine de Saint-Antonin, self-guided tour, Route de Vauvenargues (3.5 km from Jouques), 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Hosted by the "Toun" association.
DISCOVERY TOURS
Guided tour of the historic center, Sunday at 2:30 PM; meet at Place des Anciens Combattants.
"Bories" (Dry-stone hut) Trail
• Saturday at 2:00 PM; meet at Place des Anciens Combattants for a hike of approximately 3 hours to discover numerous dry-stone structures. • Sunday at 2:00 PM: Meet at Place des Anciens Combattants to carpool to the site. The tour lasts approximately 3 hours.
The two routes are different.
We recommend wearing gear suitable for outdoor activities.
Traconnade Aqueduct: remains in the municipality of Meyrargues (in partnership with the municipality of Meyrargues); Saturday, 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM.
Traconnade Aqueduct: remains in the Peyrolles area; Saturday, 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM.
Traconnade Aqueduct: remains in the Jouques area; Sunday, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
