The year is 1958. The USS Salem CA-139, a U.S. Navy heavy cruiser that has been based in Villefranche for two years, is anchored in the harbor. The crew is getting ready to set sail.
Meet Mom Germaine, a legendary figure, at Place Amélie Pollonais. Suddenly, an event turns everything upside down. Mom Germaine invites you to follow her down to the pier and through the streets of the Old Town.
There, you’ll meet some colorful characters. They’ll tell you the unique love story that has linked Villefranche to the U.S. Navy for nearly 250 years.
The characters are played by amateur actors. Event organized in partnership with the Compagnie Jacques Biagini.
The tour involves a fair amount of walking.
