Description

Through a selection of works from the municipal collection, take part in a sensitive wander between land and sea
Conceived and imagined as a journey, this exhibition invites you to wander from the port and quays of Sanary before setting sail for the open sea, eventually anchoring near the coast to discover the hinterland. 80 works by artists and painters from various artistic movements from the 19th century to the present day invite you to see Sanary in a new light. This crossing between land and sea offers an immersion into a little-known heritage. For many years, the City of Sanary-sur-Mer has built up a rich and diverse artistic heritage, comprising more than 300 works by painters and sculptors from varied backgrounds. While part of this collection is currently on display in municipal buildings, the majority is kept at the Maison Flotte, hidden from public view.
