Description

The sea washes up much more than just sand on the beach… Come and explore the natural treasures – some of them quite surprising – that can be found in the intertidal zone: cuttlefish bones, skate eggs, sponges, sea urchins and many other curiosities.
You’ll also get to discover Posidonia, the iconic Mediterranean plant that supports an incredible array of underwater biodiversity and protects our beaches from erosion. Games, little experiments and a treasure box will punctuate this fun exploration for curious young and old alike. This activity, organised by the town of La Ciotat and run by the Atelier Bleu CPIE Côte Provençale with the support of the CONCRETE Foundation, is primarily intended for residents of La Ciotat.
