Description

Nowadays, the feast of St. John is a celebration of light, a few days before the summer solstice. On Saturday, June 24th, from 6:00 pm, Roquebrune-sur-Argens proposes its version of the Midsummer fire.
Originally, St. John's Day was a pagan festival where fires were lit to bless the harvest. Nowadays, it is the celebration of light and summer, a few days before the solstice. Over time, legends and rituals have been woven around this fire.
