Galibier Vintage

Here, we're not talking about time trials. We're talking about old-fashioned bikes, levers on the frame, exposed cables, woollen shorts, full saddlebags and stinging calves. Galibier Vintage is the ascent of the Col du Galibier as we used to like it: authentic, rough, friendly. Not a race. A gathering of enthusiasts, lovers of vintage bikes, cycling heritage and this legendary mountain. Programme: - Meeting point and welcome for participants: Col du Lautaret - Hôtel des Glaciers car park - Participants welcome from the morning, registrations checked, symbolic numbers handed over and safety briefing Presentation of the spirit of the event, reminder of its non-competitive and friendly nature - Start of the Col du Galibier climb: collective and festive climb of the Col du Galibier, at a free pace, without timing or ranking. Participants ride at their own pace, respecting the highway code, the environment and other road users. - Arrival at the summit and time for socialising: gather at the summit of the Col du Galibier for a chat, take photos and highlight the emblematic nature of the site and its cycling history. - Closing meal at the Refuge du Galibier Sharing a convivial "coquillettes jambon" meal, in a "musette" atmosphere, true to the spirit of old-time cycling.
