Grave Y Cîmes Mountain Festival

This gathering is a great opportunity to take your first steps or improve your mountaineering and climbing skills. Several workshops await you on the Girose glacier at an altitude of 3,200 metres, using the cable cars of the Glaciers de la Meije, which will bring you gently closer to the mythical peaks of the Écrins. However, Base Camp for the weekend will be at the Salle des Fêtes in La Grave - La Meije. Whether you're a novice or a seasoned practitioner, you'll be able to choose the workshops you'd like to do during the day. This weekend is a real opportunity! Being accompanied by mountain professionals and benefiting from personalized advice can lay a solid foundation in mountaineering and enable you to learn in a favorable environment. Provisional schedule for La Grave Y Cîmes 2026 Participants will be divided into two groups to make the most of the activities. Group D1 will start with the valley on the first day, then discover the glacier the following day. Group J2 will follow the opposite route: glacier on the first day, then valley on the second. The base camp will be set up at La Grave village hall. Friday June 26th 5pm - 8pm: Welcome at the Salle des fêtes. 6:30pm: Briefing. Saturday June 27th 7:30am - 8:15am: Welcome to participants at the village hall. 8:00 am: Departure of the organizers by cable car. 8:30 am: Participants depart for their activity sites for the day. There will be a checkpoint at 3200 m for the passage of leaders and participants. 3:30 pm: End of workshops on the glacier. 4:30 pm: End of workshops in the valley. Sunday June 28th 8:00 am: Departure of the guides. 8:30 am: Departure of participants for the second day of activities. There will be a checkpoint at 3200 m for the passage of leaders and participants. 3:30 pm: End of workshops on the glacier. 4:30 pm: End of workshops in the valley. The maximum number of registrations is 100 participants in order to guarantee optimal reception.
