Fort du Cap-Martin, 1 allée Marie-Henriette, 06190 Roquebrune-Cap-Martin

Description

Located at the far end of the Maginot Line, and built between 1930 and 1933, this structure protected French territory from a possible Italian invasion.
It played a role in the fighting between the French and Italians in June 1940. In the vegetation of Cap Martin, 3 steel bells can be seen, emerging parts of this fort which hides a maze of corridors 25 meters below ground.
