Description
To mark European Heritage Days, the Var Psychiatric Hospital in Pierrefeu-du-Var will be opening its doors to the public on an exceptional basis on Saturday 19 September from 9.00 am to 12.00 pm.
This morning will provide an opportunity to discover the hospital, its history and its heritage through guided tours taking place at 9.00 am, 10.00 am and 11.00 am.
Open to the public on this special occasion, the hospital will showcase its grounds and iconic buildings. Visitors will be able to trace the development of this institution, founded in 1896, which experienced significant growth in the early 20th century with the construction of new wards, infirmaries and boarding houses. Over the decades, the hospital weathered both world wars and then evolved alongside advances in medicine.
This tour will therefore offer an immersive experience of over 130 years of history, allowing visitors to discover an exceptional architectural, medical and human heritage.
Free of charge, subject to registration.
