Description

Discover the Île district in a whole new way during the European Heritage Days! Join our big "Before & After" photo rally with family or friends, track down Martigues' historic sites, and try to win a fantastic prize.
For European Heritage Days, the Martigues Tourist Office invites you to step back in time. Grab your smartphone and set out to find three iconic locations in the "Île" district. The goal? To compare the Martigues of the past with the Martigues of today by recreating three historical snapshots from the exact same angle. It’s an original, free, and accessible way to take a fresh look at the canals, architecture, and narrow streets of our seaside town. • How to take part in the "Before/After" Photo Rally? Participation is simple and open to everyone! You can submit your entries via the platform of your choice: 1. Explore the "Île" district and find the 3 historical spots Download the 3 vintage photos from the provided Google Drive or send them to us via our social media channels. From the "Miroir aux Oiseaux" (Mirror of Birds) to the facades lining the Saint-Sébastien Canal, find the exact vantage point used by the original photographer. 2. Snap your photos with "proof of presence" To have your entry validated by the jury, you must frame each shot exactly like the original. The crucial detail: A member of your team (or their hand) must make a distinctive gesture—such as a thumbs-up or the "V" for victory sign—in the photo! 3. Submit your photos (3 options available) To make it easy for everyone to play, we accept entries submitted via: - Google Form: Fill out the online Photo Rally form and upload your 3 images directly. - Instagram: Like the contest post on @martiguestourisme, tag a friend in the comments, share the post to your Story, and publish a carousel of your 3 photos on your public account using the hashtag #martiguestourisme. - Facebook: Like the post on the Martigues Tourism page, comment on and share it, then send us your 3 photos via private message. Up for grabs: A local gift! A jury made up of the Tourist Office team will review all entries. The team that recreates the historical framing with the greatest precision and accuracy will win a metal skyline of Martigues town center, created by us. The results will be announced on our social media channels the week following the event.
