Description

The Metropolitan Port of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, with the support of the commune, is pleased to announce the exhibition of the monumental open-air phygital work "Il Cuore della Terra", created by Italian artist Cesare Catania.
A MONUMENTAL WORK OF ART BETWEEN SEA AND MOUNTAINS Presented outdoors on the Quai Virgile Allari in the port of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, this three-meter-high sculpture offers an immersive, interactive experience. Made of steel and geometric shapes, "Il Cuore della Terra" explores balance and tension, between gravity and elevation. A work to be experienced as much as contemplated. AN APPROACH COMBINING ART, MATTER AND PERCEPTION A contemporary artist born in Milan, Cesare Catania's research lies at the crossroads of engineering and sensitive experience. His work is based on a process of transformation: reality is deconstructed and then reconstructed through forms, materials and systems of forces. From painting to sculpture, the artist confronts his works with real space, weight and gravity. "My work is born of tension. Not of an idea to be represented, but of something that doesn't immediately find a form and demands to be traversed, understood and restored." At the heart of his approach, unstable equilibrium becomes a language. His sculptures reveal the invisible tensions of matter and engage in dialogue with their environment. AN IMMERSIVE, SHARED EXPERIENCE The "phygital" dimension extends this exploration: thanks to augmented reality and interactive devices, the work opens up to new levels of reading. With his Manifesto of Democratic Art, Cesare Catania defends a vision of art as a meeting place, accessible to all. More than an exhibition, this installation invites the public to enjoy a sensory experience and question their perception of reality, between material and imaginary, visible and invisible. -> Opening May 13, 6:30pm
