DANIELLE KLECZEWSKI-BÉZAT
Born in Paris, the artist studied at the École supérieure de dessin. Surrounded by artists, she frequented the Place du Tertre and the Place des Vosges. In the cellars of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, she met Sidney Bechet, the legendary jazz clarinetist. She left Paris and settled permanently “in a magnificent place, near Le Garbet.” Admiring the talent of the great jazz musicians, she began painting jazz-inspired works, sensing in this music “the voice of a people who suffer and who move her.”
