Formerly known as Targo, this Provençal jousting game offers passers-by an unusual and unique spectacle in the heart of the town.
Practised from May to September, Provençal jousting is a fight on the water between two people, each on a boat, at the top of a board known in Provençal as a ‘teinteine’. The aim of the game is to throw your opponent into the water using a spear.
Each player is protected by a wooden breastplate and holds a baton in his left hand to prevent him from catching his opponent's spear.
