*Ladies Football Club* tells the story of one of the first women’s soccer teams in England.
On November 6, 1917, eleven female factory workers, sitting on a low wall with their feet up, look out at the empty factory courtyard. The prototype of one of the bombs manufactured in the factory lies there, in the middle of the empty space. And inexplicably, as if by mutual agreement, these eleven women—who do not have the right to vote, who have access to work only because all the men are at war, who are usually on the sidelines of the playing fields—decide to take possession of the ball and claim the space. The adventure begins…
