In the summer of 1971, 16-year-old Marie-Claire becomes pregnant. Although it is a crime punishable by law, she does not want to keep the child. She wants to have an abortion. In solidarity, her mother, Michèle, followed by Lucette, Renée, and Micheline, do everything they can to help her. But the clandestine abortion goes wrong… Fall 1972. All the women find themselves charged. A certain lawyer, Maître Gisèle Halimi, will lead this trial—the Bobigny trial. Their courage shaped the course of history. “Never forget that all it takes is a political, economic, or religious crisis for women’s rights to be called into question. These rights are never guaranteed. You must remain vigilant throughout your lives.” Simone de Beauvoir. Winner of the ARTCENA Creation Grant. Based on *The Bobigny Trial: Choosing the Cause of Women* © Éditions Gallimard.
