By Geneviève Haroche-Bouzinac, author of *Madame de Sévigné: A Woman and Her World in the Grand Siècle* (Flammarion, 2023), which won the 2024 Goncourt Prize for Biography. As part of the 400th anniversary of Madame de Sévigné.
Long before contemporary environmental concerns emerged, George Sand celebrated nature in her novels and advocated for a harmonious relationship between humans and their environment. This lecture highlights her pioneering perspective on landscapes, rural life, and living things.
