Description
Enjoy two exceptional evenings of music against the magnificent backdrop of the Carrières des Lumières, featuring Jean-Guihen Queyras and Alexandre Tharaud on 25 July, and Vincent Peirani and Émile Parisien on 27 July.
Concert by Jean-Guihen Queyras and Alexandre Tharaud on 25 July:
This year, the duo are celebrating a musical friendship of exceptional depth. From Marin Marais to Poulenc, via Schubert’s famous ‘Arpeggione’ Sonata, they revisit four centuries of repertoire with a constant sense of rapport… and the virtuosity of two artists at the very pinnacle of the international music scene. An exceptional evening in store.
Concert by Vincent Peirani and Émile Parisien on 27 July!
Few musicians have ever performed more than 1,000 concerts together in 10 years, including over 600 as a duo. ‘Abrazo’ (‘embrace’) was born out of the extreme subtlety of their interactions and their innovative approach to their instruments. Whatever the ingredients of their hypnotic potion – traditional or modern jazz, free avant-garde, classical, folk, rock, electronic, new or early music.
A presentation of the Picasso and Frida Kahlo programme will take place at the end of the evening.
