Marivaux’s *The Village Heir* by the TNN

A Brief Summary of the Play “The Village Heir” is a short comic farce. It tells the story of Blaise, a very poor young farmer. One day, Blaise suddenly inherits a huge fortune. This sudden change in his financial situation completely turns his mind and behavior upside down: Blaise becomes very conceited. He begins to look down on the people around him and his village. He forgets his humble roots. In response, his fiancée Colette and the other characters in the play devise amusing situations to trick Blaise and bring him back to his senses. A Sunny, Culinary Production Director Laurent Prévot has envisioned a seaside vacation setting to bring Marivaux’s text to life. “On a beautiful, sunny afternoon—in a beach cabana, under a parasol, with your feet in the water, listening to the waves… The social upheaval unfolds.
