Description
To the sound of a brass band, the emblematic float will wind its way through the town to a tasting area for winegrowers' vintages (screen-printed glasses on sale). Food truck, ice cream parlour, DJ and AOC Vaison master class led by a sommelier.
Winemakers from the Côtes du Rhône Villages Vaison-la-Romaine AOC are taking over Vaison for the 5th edition of Vaison Voit Rouge and the appellation’s 10th anniversary.
The event will begin with a musical parade through downtown featuring wine tastings. Afterward, follow the float to the boulodrome, where you’ll enjoy an aperitif featuring the pop-rock duo Émilien & Gilou, followed by a masterclass open to the public, led by a winemaker. Then, starting at 8 p.m., Ferme Dagobert will host a winemaker’s dinner featuring spit-roasted lamb (information and reservations at aop-vaison-la-romaine.fr), before wrapping up the evening with DJ Vinyl Culture.
Comprising 100% red wines, the Côtes du Rhône Villages Vaison-la-Romaine appellation was established in 2016. The vineyard spans five municipalities: Vaison-la-Romaine, Saint Marcellin les Vaison, Villedieu, Buisson, and Saint-Roman-de-Malegarde. Across 200 hectares of registered vineyards, 5 wineries and 11 estates produce 6,561 hectoliters, with an average yield of 34 hl/ha (SGVCDR 2021 data).
